Melissa is originally from Miami and loves her Cuban roots. She has been married to her college sweetheart for 22 years and they have a wonderful son. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, visiting the springs in the area, exercising at Orange Theory Fitness and with her Peloton app.

 

Melissa has been a nurse practitioner in Family Practice and Women's Health for the last 10 years, as well as a ER nurse for 4 years prior to her becoming a nurse practitioner. She’s a dual certified nurse practitioner with certifications in Women’s Health and Family Practice. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and Communication and a master’s degree in Agribusiness from the University of Florida.

  

She is excited to provide the High Springs community with easier access to Women's Health services including annual gynecological exams, birth control counseling and management, and management of gynecological problems. She is also passionate about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. This therapy can help men and women of all ages, not just menopausal women. Bioidentical hormone therapy has been life changing for her and her patients and it focuses on quality of life and vitality. Melissa is also excited to provide primary care to all, managing not only chronic diseases, but helping her patients achieve wellness and healthier lifestyles.
